Vision and Purpose

The Why and What behind this Business

the foundation:

For starters, thank you for visiting Today is Possible (TIP).  My name is Johnathon Jones, and as the founder of TIP, I am thrilled to get to know you.  While some of my hobbies and interests include endurance sports (Marathons, Ironman Triathlons), traveling, and outdoor adventures, I am also passionate about, and intrigued, by the idea of embracing adversity and working through complex change.

TIP is for people and organizations that are passionate about creating a positive environment that maximizes the potential of themselves and those it works with. While this includes celebrating the victories and successes, it also means working through the challenging circumstances that are met along the way. I can relate, because I have been there myself.  Check out more by clicking here.

With a goal of becoming a better person tomorrow than you are today, TIP provides the foundation and framework for driving lasting change; change that works to empower all people and organizations by sharing strategies for working through the tough times, while also not losing sight of the vision and mission. There is a question that must be answered:

"How am/are I (we) going to get through this?"

So, together, the TIP community shares, learns, and grows as it tackles this question.  Instead of looking at it from this angle, we choose to take the approach that we are better served by learning to manage complex change.  Through an understanding of the components of complex change, we can begin to see what is required to work through the challenges and obstacles we have encountered, or will encounter. the focus:

There are a few ways that people engage in this community.  The goal is to make the material as accessible to as many people as possible. The most common way that people stay up to date, is by subscribing to the Today is Possible weekly articles.  Once a week, members receive an email directly to their inbox with an engaging and thought-provoking article.  Hassle free (and free of charge), no spam, and no gimmicks... click here to join the thousands of others who have already taken the initiative.  In the meantime, click here to receive a free copy of TIP's most popular workbook.

After compiling my work and content for the better part of 7 years, I continue to learn, to evolve, and to commit myself to improvement, while attempting to better understand what drives people and organizations forward. From webinars, to online coaching, and to speaking engagements, TIP strives to work with people and companies that are passionate about doing the ‘hard things’ to propel growth and development.  Be sure to check out upcoming courses and availability in the information below.

Your life is full of obstacles and challenges, mountains if you will.  These mountains aren't meant to hold us back, but rather push us forward to reach our fullest (and highest) potential.  Show others that you embody this belief by sporting some of my Today is Possible gear.  Pre-orders are coming soon.

the vision?

The readers who subscribe to my content tend to believe that things make more sense when there is intention and purpose behind why you do what you do.  When you have a passion for becoming better, overcoming obstacles, and achieving goals, it's easier to drive positive change and incremental growth.

This brings me to the 'why'.  In anything, the 'why' is the purpose - the driving force behind why you do what you do.  In essence, it's the vision.

The vision of Today is Possible is simply as follows:

"To manage complex change in a manner that allows you and your organization to turn your biggest obstacles into your greatest opportunities."

In order to bring this vision life, there are principles/motto’s to consider.

  1. Complacency Breeds Mediocrity (Self-worth) - You strive to be more than just 'average'. Fitting in with the crowd, sliding by unnoticed, and hiding in the shadows isn't good enough for you. Individual growth (personally and professionally) is necessary.

  2. Never Settle for Anything Less than You Deserve (Self-Sacrifice) - You are worth more than what the world tells you, and often times, even more than what you tell yourself. You deserve to dream, to pursue, and to take ownership of your life.

  3. Use Unique Skills to Create and Drive Change (self-appreciation) - You have a skill set that is unique to just you. Harness your passions and pursue your interests.

the mission:

As previously noted, the vision is focused on the long-term objective(s). On the other hand, the mission is typically what drives the vision. For me, the mission is to work with individuals and organizationsthat have a sincere passion for becoming better, for learning something new, and for driving note-worthy and sustainable change. The mission is the short-term objective that compounds to achieve a vision. The vision isn’t possible without the mission and vice versa. The vision comes first, but the mission drives the vision. So, the mission of this business is exactly what the name says, 'Today is Possible.
