Who is Johnathon Jones?

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to visit my website and to learn about my story.  In a nutshell I'm a husband, a son, a Millennial, a Christian, a business professional, a triathlete, a marathon runner, a traveler, and an outdoorsy person.

What began as a side project in 2013, has evolved into a passion.  As I continued to refine my writing skills, I enjoyed the concept of developing and sharing my thoughts and ideas with my readers.

How Did I Get Here?

From southwestern Ohio to the Rocky Mountains, my life journey has taken me all over the world.  I've traveled to Europe, Asia, Central America, each coast of the United States and everywhere in between.  My journey in life hasn't always been linear (obviously).  But, upon reflection, I wouldn't want it any other way because I wouldn't be where I am at this moment.  All of my experiences have allowed me to learn, to grow, and to develop, an understanding and appreciation for each day that I get to walk this earth.

Has it been enjoyable?  You bet.  Has it been challenging?  Of course.  Would I change anything.  Not at all.

I've experienced my fair share of victories and defeats.  From losing jobs to being let go from jobs, to have virtually no money to having enough money, from being out of shape to getting in shape, and from being a person that felt isolated to a person that experiences joy in my surroundings - it's all a part of the path that has lead me to today.

My Motivation?

I'm in continuous pursuit of bettering myself and those around me.  Whether I am writing for this blog, training for endurance sport events, or building a career, I believe the key to success has always been focusing on 'today'. It's important to remember that you don't have to do today, but rather you get to do today.  Today isn't always easy.  We are all faced with something today that is going to be challenging in many domains - physically, mentally, or emotionally.  However, there is opportunity with sunrise.

I choose to fully and deliberately live my life with intention and purpose.

Through it all, I’ve had to develop and implement strategies for working through these difficulties and overcoming the adversity associated with them.  Through my experiences, I’ve grown personally and professionally in a way that has allowed me to discover not just what I’m capable of doing, but what I’m actually going to accomplish, and how my actions will get me there.

There is no doubt in my mind that we all have a purpose, and our capabilities know no limits.  However, it’s our own responsibility to tackle the obstacles keeping us from getting where we are today, to where we want to go tomorrow.
